Last week Friday I attended a small gathering at HSBC Bank in Croydon along with a select few GPS Graduates courtesy of Akin who attended our last GPS Dinner. He wanted to introduce some of the GPS Graduates to some of the other HSBC Branch Managers as well as his bosses one of whom was called Steve Davies.
From Left to Right (Akin HSBC manager, Barry UVAmbassador, Tony &
Steve HSBC Head of lending to London SME’s )
Steve made a presentation in which he shared lots of useful tips and information, most notably that he presided over a budget of £100 million, which has been allocated for lending to SME’s operating within London and the M25. It was also pointed out that you did not have to bank with HSBC in order to apply for a business loan.
The evening was so enlightening that I have invited Robin Blake, who Mangers Clapham Junction Branch and has been with HSBC for over 20 years, to join Akin, myself and guests to share informally over dinner the importance of “Financial Literacy” and the “mind-set” required for good business practices and success. They will both share with a particular focus on SME’s from the Afro Caribbean and African communities.
Instant connection and engagement in a deep conversation about the mind-set of successful people in our community
(Tony Biola & Robin Blake HSBC Manager at Clapham)
To accommodate this new development we have moved the date for the dinner from this Friday to Friday 3rd October. Places are limited to 20 so please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a seat. (Seats will be reserved on a first come first served basis)
